The Richfield Youth Hockey Association strives to teach participants the game of organized hockey and instill the lifelong principles of teamwork, sportsmanship and respect to help grow confidence, strong character and strengthen the community.
USA Hockey is implementing a new set of policies starting with the 2012-13 season called The SafeSport Program. The purpose of this program is to create the safest possible environment for participation in hockey. There will be a new position created to oversee the implementation of this program for each association. Chara Blanch will fill this position.
The comprehensive program is focused on creating an environment that will deter abusers and assist those in the hockey community in recognizing, reducing and responding to allegations or suspected abuse. You can read about the program by clicking on the link below.

Kennedy and Richfield both have setup committees to work through coop play issues for next season. The Kennedy committee has setup an email address and is looking for feedback, both from parents and kids on what worked this season and what could be improved. "The D6 one league rule has been replaced with a player commitment contracts that reads as follows -
COMMITMENT TO TEAM – Players are expected to participate in all team activities (practices, games, tournaments, etc). An allowance for an “excused absence” upon notice that is reasonable under the circumstances may be established by teams and associations. However, unexcused absence is grounds for consequence to a player, as determined by the team or association, up to and including suspension.
